Per Diem Information

The following conference attendance guidance is being
provided for your use in support of GOMACTech 03. The General Service
Administration (GSA) recently amended the Federal Travel Regulation as it pertains to governing conference planning and attendance. Government agencies may approve higher conference lodging rate up to 125% of the published government rate for that facility location. If the conference rate is above the 125% of the approved lodging rate then a request for actual expenses allowance must be submitted in lieu of a request for the higher conference rate approval. Please be advised the approval for funds expenditures come from the comptroller of the "orders issuing" Agency.

Reference to Increased Rates for DoD Conference Attendees:

DoD employees who wish to obtain approval for increased lodging rates while attending conferences should refer to the Joint Travel Regulation, citing section C4603 for Actual Expense Allowance (AEA). Contact your local travel office for policies and procedures. Government travel orders (DD form 1610) should be annotated in the Remarks block with a statement similar to this: "A conference lodging allowance of $xxx.xx has been approved for this conference."
